Hold the strap so the nylon side is facing toward you and the biothane side faces the saddle. Insert the end of the hard use strap upward through the D ring.

Pull the strap on through the D ring and put the end of it through the loop that is at the other end of the hard use strap.

Continue pulling the strap until it is secured at the D ring.

This is how it will look if you have completed this correctly.

Next, take the end of the strap with the nylon side facing you or upward, and put the stirrup on the strap.

With the nylon part of the strap facing upward put the end of the strap through the buckle at the bottom of the flap of the saddle. This is called the hard use buckle. Be sure the nylon side of the stirrup strap is facing upward as it goes through the buckle.

Then, just put the pin in the hole. The excess strap will need to go somewhere in order to get it neatly out of the way. Take the excess end and thread it through the small opening of the buckle above the pin.

The excess strap then goes under the bar of the stirrup.

There should be a velcro strap with the saddle. Use it to secure the strap just below the buckle. You could also put the velcro strap on the other side of the stirrup bar. Either way is fine. The hard use mode is meant to be left with the straps open over the top of the stirrup bar. This allows the stirrups to move back and forth freely on the stirrup strap.

All that is left to do is to place the removable seat top back on the saddle and enjoy the ride!

This hard use strap is only for the hard use mode. The way it is made will not allow it to be used as an english leather for the free swing mode. To go free swing you will need your own one inch English "leathers". Simply take off the hard use straps and put the leathers on the D ring.
